Finance and FP&A Specialist

About the Position
​​​​​​​​We’re looking for someone to join our finance team who can own the monthly close, keep our P&L and balance sheet ultra-clean across all subsidiaries, and steer tax compliance with our external advisors. You’ll also co-lead FP&A and bring sharp, CEO-ready insights to the table.
How you will contribute

As the Finance Specialist & FP&A Analyst, you will be responsible for validating the accuracy and correct classification of all accounting inputs recorded in the P&L and Balance Sheet for all group subsidiaries. Your role will further encompass leading the timely and accurate monthly financial close process and subsequent reporting. Beyond the core accounting function, you will oversee the tax compliance of all entities, coordinating directly with external tax advisors to ensure structural tax efficiency across the group. Finally, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive financial reports, including variance analysis, to the CEO and key stakeholders.

You will be leading the FP&A area the together with the Head of Finance and will have recurrent exposure to the CEO and management team of the company.

As a member of this team you will
  • Manage the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of companies: Oversee and manage the complete accounting cycle, including financial reporting, and month-end closings for a group of companies.

  • Manage tax reporting and compliance: Assist with the preparation, filing, and control of taxes for the entire portfolio of companies in collaboration with external tax advisors. Continuously monitor the group's tax position, seeking optimization and the timely recovery of tax refunds.

  • Optimize existing financial processes: Evaluate and streamline existing processes within the finance department to enhance overall performance and accuracy.

  • Automate accounting processes: Implement tools and systems to automate accounting tasks, improving efficiency and reducing errors.

  • Treasury management: Assist in managing cash flow, banking relationships, and other treasury-related tasks for multiple companies.

  • Budget and re-forecasting: 

    • Support the Head of Finance in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget and recurrent forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives

    • Periodically refresh and update predictive financial forecasts to reflect the latest business trends and market conditions.

    • Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for deviations from budget or forecast.

  • Prepare and report results to Yaba’s stakeholders

    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and ad-hoc analysis as required

    • Prepare together with the Head of Finance recurrent presentations to management, board of directors, investors and banks

  • Develop and maintain business reporting procedures:

    • Monitor performance through detailed recurrent and meaningful reports to all areas of the business (management, investors and other stakeholders)

    • Collaborate with business teams to translate financial data into actionable insights

    • Analyze the company’s financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities

    • Recommend process improvements, automation and implement best practices for financial reporting and analysis

Who will thrive in this role
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in finance, FP&A, controlling or similar roles

  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals

  • Tax & Compliance Knowledge: Working knowledge of key European and US tax regulations (VAT, Income Tax) and a strong commitment to global compliance standards.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must. Relevant experience in financial modelling                                                                                     

  • Deep knowledge of SQL or BI tools will be greatly valued (we use Google tools to use and visualize data: BigQuery and Looker Studio)

  • Knowledge of Netsuite or similar ERP systems is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will eventually lead presentations to other business stakeholders (other company’s areas, internal committee, banks/investors, etc.)

  • 2 languages spoken fluently, level C1 (English + Spanish)
